We invite EBA members to join the EBA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee.
EBA Diversity Policy
The EBA is committed to fostering, cultivating, preserving, and promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This commitment is intended to extend not only throughout the organization’s board and membership, but also to contractual relationships, and industry relationships, and other organizational exposures.
We embrace and encourage differences in age, color, disability, ethnicity, family or marital status, gender identity or expression, language, national origin, physical and mental ability, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, veteran status, and other characteristics that make our organization unique. The collective sum of everyone’s differences, life experiences, knowledge, inventiveness, innovation, self-expression, unique capabilities, and talent represents a significant part of not only the EBA’s culture, but our reputation and the association’s achievements as well.
EBA’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion can be accomplished through mindful decision making in all corners of the organization. This extends to contract selections, training, social events, member activities, and overall association governance. In all interactions, the EBA expects the following:
- Respectful Communication and Cooperation: Treating others with dignity and respect at all times
- Inclusive Teamwork: Facilitating the representation of all groups and member perspectives
- Progress: Promoting a greater understanding and respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion
Committee Goals:
- Act as a group to help EBA members feel welcomed and included; and also bring ideas to our respective organizations, for better inclusion. Use our leverage to help environmental banking professionals progress in their careers.
- Help bring volunteer and leadership opportunities for all EBA members, as well as ensure inclusion is met within educational and networking opportunities.
- Ensure inclusion is brought into EBA’s CSR activities and scholarship opportunities.
- Develop Mentorship programs; and continue to look for opportunities to build communities.
Please also visit our DEI Resources page.
If you would like to help us achieve these goals, as well as develop future goals, please consider joining the EBA DEI Committee. We meet monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, at 2pm eastern. All are welcomed! Contact lisa@envirobank.org for more information.
