Join the Risk Management Member Group call on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 as we present:

Dealing with Radon in Multifamily Buildings

Radon policies and regulations have significantly evolved over the past 20 years, especially since the inception of HUD’ multifamily radon policies introduced in 2013.  This presentation will discuss the evolution of multifamily property assessments, and current challenges related to the different mortgage requirements, state regulations, as well as an overview of the ANSI testing/mitigation standards. The goal is to provide information that will help the lenders and consultants understand some of the complexities in order to avoid delays, frustrations, and the extra costs associated with repeated testing events that result in extended rides on the Radon Merry-Go-Round.

Many of you know Shawn Price from past EBA meetings and his well-attended booth. For those that caught Shawn’s Radon presentation on a Risk Call in 2016, you surely recall how informative and engaging it was!   Mr. Shawn Price is the Director of Laboratory Operations for Spruce Environmental Technologies, Inc. and their three laboratories which located in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. He is a former President of the American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (AARST) and continues to support the industry through AARST’s Government Affairs and Standard Management committees. Shawn is also the Chair of the ANSI standard workgroup on radon measurements in single family residences, schools, and multifamily buildings. Shawn has 30 years of industry experience including a decade of development and administration of the US EPA’s Radon Proficiency Program, 20 years in laboratory management, quality control, and accreditation.  This will be a great call, accompanied by a comprehensive PPT deck available for download from the EBA website.
