EBAA Update August 2012
EBAA
Headquarters in Melbourne, Australia is planning a roundtable event with industry
leaders on November 16, 2012 where they will be gathering members and non
members alike to work through some key areas that impact the financial sector. As an outcome to the roundtable we want to
establish a "code of practice" for the financial sector relating to
the environmental space.We
have on board the Advisory Panel in Paul Vogel and a new member, Matt Vincent,
who is the Director of Strategy for EPA Victoria. It is likely that we will also have the CEO of
EPA New South Wales as well. In addition
we have been approached by the Federal Governments Department of the
Environment and Sustainability through their Bio Diversity division and have
asked them to attend and be involved as well.
Finally we are approaching the Federal Governments Treasury department
to also be involved.We
have taken this approach so as to profile the work of the EBAA and believe by
taking an industry leadership role through the roundtable that we will maintain
and extend the potential membership for the EBAA and also position ourselves as
a leading entity in this market. The
fact that we have been able to get the Federal Government on board through the
several departments indicates that we are on the right track. As
we work through the agenda for the roundtable, we want to discuss how perhaps
the EBA may be able to be engaged as part of the roundtable.
