EBA Summer 2017 Conference
Macro and Micro: Regions, Neighborhoods, Buildings, and Materials

Financial institutions must consider more than just Recognized Environmental Conditions in their operations, underwriting, and risk management.  The Environmental Bankers Association Summer 2017 conference highlights regional issues like flooding and land use; hazardous materials in buildings; compliance with operational permits; and other risk management strategies geared toward bank operations and other business risks in loan underwriting.

We will also have a regional focus on infrastructure and redevelopment in the Northeast region of the United States, with its more compact cities, longer history of industrial activities, and older housing stock.  As part of this focus, we’ll look at the state cleanup programs in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Jersey with their delegations of certain program elements to certified professionals.

Call for Speakers Current EBA members are invited and encouraged to propose presentations for the June 4-7, 2017 conference in Providence, Rhode Island. To be considered for selection, please complete this submission form by April 14, 2017.

Why speak at EBA?  Our conference offers a unique opportunity to share your expertise in a friendly and accommodating environment with industry insiders and senior level managers in the environmental risk field.  Speaking at our conference may be your first step toward a future in public speaking!  We highly encourage first time speakers to submit proposals.

Education Focus Educational sessions are 45-60 minutes in length, with several speakers or a panel discussion making up each session. Proposed presentations should be tailored to be 20 minutes, with time allowed after for audience questions and commentary. Selected presentations will be positioned throughout the conference. We do our best to offer attendees a wide variety of topics tailored to current issues and risk drivers in the banking, real estate, and environmental fields. Speaker selections will be made to provide a diversity of voices and expertise in the key topics for our meeting, as described below.  Speakers may be scheduled into one of six main sessions for the conference on Monday, June 5, 2017 and Tuesday, June 6, 2017.  There may also be opportunities for lunch speakers or moderators.  Please indicate any time periods during those days that you cannot be available so that we can plan accordingly.

Occasionally we receive presentation proposals that may be better suited to a future conference or a different EBA educational channel, such as one of our member development conference calls or webinars.  We may forward your proposal to other committees within EBA for consideration in one of these channels.

In addition, we may request a short article for your topic to be included in our printed and online EBA Journal, which will be provided to all conference attendees upon check-in.
